AI Stylist App for Women in India

Mirra AI is an AI stylist app for women. Tell it where you're going, and it puts together an outfit from the clothes you've added, or helps you find a piece to buy when something's missing. It understands Indian and western wear, and it's free on Android and iPhone in India and the US.

What is an AI stylist?

An AI stylist uses artificial intelligence to recommend outfits, matching the occasion you describe with the clothes and preferences you've shared. It's like a personal stylist you can message whenever you're getting ready, except it works from what you tell it rather than seeing you in person. Mirra is an AI stylist made for women, with Indian occasions and garments in mind.

Our blog post What Is an AI Stylist? covers how AI stylists work in general and what to look for when choosing one.

How does it choose outfits?

Mirra reads your request for the occasion, time, setting and any limits you mention, then picks pieces that suit the occasion and go well together. In Wardrobe mode it chooses from the clothes you've added to the app; in Shop mode it suggests pieces from the brands in its catalogue. If you've added your skin shade or body type to your profile, Mirra uses them to recommend colours and clothes.

Wardrobe suggestions appear as outfit cards showing your own items, sometimes with a short styling tip. You can rate any reply with πŸ‘ or πŸ‘Ž, which tells Mirra how it did.

Which occasions can it help with?

Mirra can help with everyday plans and big events alike: office days, college, dates, travel, festivals and every part of an Indian wedding. You describe the occasion in your own words, so it doesn't have to be on a fixed list. Saying whether it's indoors or outdoors, day or night, and how dressy it is helps Mirra suggest something that fits.

Occasions Mirra can help with include:

  • Work: regular office days, client meetings and interviews
  • Weddings: haldi, mehendi, sangeet, the ceremony and the reception
  • Festivals: Diwali, Navratri and pujas
  • Everyday: college, brunch, dinner plans and first dates
  • Travel: weekend trips and destination weddings

Can it use my own clothes?

Yes. Mirra builds outfits from your own clothes once they're in the app: photograph them (up to 5 uploads a day) or bring in your online purchases from Myntra, AJIO, Nykaa Fashion, Savana or Amazon India. In Wardrobe chat, it puts together a look from those pieces for the occasion you describe. Our AI wardrobe app page explains adding clothes in more detail.

To build a look around one piece you love, type @ in Wardrobe chat and choose it from your wardrobe. Mirra then sees that exact item and styles the rest of the outfit around it.

How do I get better suggestions?

You'll get better suggestions from Mirra by being specific about the occasion and giving it more to work with. Mention the event, time of day, place and dress code, plus anything you'd rather avoid, and add the clothes you actually wear. Rating replies with πŸ‘ or πŸ‘Ž also tells Mirra how a suggestion landed.

Small changes that make a difference:

  • Say what you'll be doing: "dancing all night at a sangeet" needs a different outfit from "sitting through a long puja"
  • Name a piece you want to wear by typing @ and picking it
  • Mention the weather or the journey: "humid", "a long drive", "walking a lot"
  • Add your optional skin shade and body type in Profile for colour and fit suggestions
  • Ask again with one change: "less formal", "no heels", "something in blue"

The colours that suit Indian skin tones guide is a useful companion if you're unsure which shades to ask for.

What doesn't it do?

Mirra's AI stylist can't see you or try clothes on you, so it can't judge fit, how a fabric feels, or how a piece sits on your body. It works only from the clothes you've added and the products in its catalogue, and its suggestions are ideas rather than rules. Mirra is in beta, so a reply can occasionally miss the mark; your own taste always comes first.

It also doesn't know your family's colour theme or your office dress code unless you mention them, so include those details in your message.

From outfit ideas to shopping

When a look needs one more piece, switch to Shop and ask for it; the AI shopping assistant page shows how. You can also browse women's fashion by category on the Mirra shop page.
